Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Java Software Engineer. The Java Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications, working closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and implement robust solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, building and maintaining microservices using the Spring Framework, and performing code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices. The role also involves debugging and resolving software defects, optimizing application performance, participating in agile ceremonies, and collaborating on continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Java and core programming concepts, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Hands-on experience in software development, including the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
- Practical knowledge of microservices architecture and experience building and maintaining microservices-based applications.
- Experience with the Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring MVC) for enterprise application development.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, relational databases (such as MySQL or PostgreSQL), and ORM frameworks.
- Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to writing secure, scalable, and reliable software.
