Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Java Production Operations Support Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in managing and supporting production environments for Java-based applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in production support, incident management, automation, and operational excellence, with the ability to ensure system stability, performance, and business continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide L2/L3 production support for Java-based applications and critical business systems
• Monitor application performance, server health, and production environments to ensure high availability
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, analyze logs, and resolve incidents within defined SLA timelines
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes to prevent recurring issues
• Support application deployments, releases, patches, and environment management
• Work closely with development, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams for seamless production support and releases
• Automate repetitive operational tasks, monitoring, and deployment processes to improve efficiency
• Manage incidents, problem tickets, and change requests through ITSM tools
• Monitor APIs, batch jobs, integrations, and database performance to ensure smooth operations
• Ensure application uptime, performance optimization, and operational stability
• Create and maintain operational runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation
• Participate in on-call rotations and manage critical production escalations
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement automation for operational excellence
Required Skills:
• Strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE production support and troubleshooting
• Experience in handling live production environments and critical incident management
• Strong knowledge of automation and scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell, or similar)
• Good understanding of SQL and database troubleshooting (Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL)
• Strong experience with Linux/Unix environments
• Experience with API monitoring and troubleshooting (REST/SOAP)
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana, ELK
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and release management
• Experience with ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Jira
• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Preferred Skills:
• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
• Knowledge of automation frameworks and workflow optimization
• Understanding of application performance tuning and system optimization
