Java Services Developer
Prime Brokerage Entitlements Technology | Hungary
We are seeking a Java Services Developer to join the Prime Brokerage Entitlements Technology team, a group responsible for one of the most critical areas of engineering within the firm: authorization and entitlement management across 50+ business applications.
This role sits in a fast‑paced, Agile environment and involves building scalable, secure, and reliable Java‑based services that support the firm's centralized entitlement platform. You’ll collaborate closely with technology and business stakeholders and contribute to the evolution of the firm's security architecture.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support scalable Java-based services and applications.
- Build and maintain authorization and entitlement management systems.
- Develop solutions involving:
- Data analytics
- System integrations
- Rules/calculation engines
- Reporting and support tools
- Ensure system reliability through availability, capacity management, and backward compatibility.
- Continuously enhance applications to meet evolving business needs and security standards.
- Participate in:
- Code reviews
- Testing and release cycles
- Level 3 production support
- Knowledge sharing within the team
- Manage risks, issues, and change controls in accordance with internal procedures.
- Collaborate effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
🔹 Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in Java web/services development.
- Strong experience with:
- Spring Framework
- Apache CXF
- JDBC
- Solid understanding of:
- Data structures
- Design patterns
- Caching strategies
- Multi-threaded & n-tier architectures
- Strong proficiency in ANSI SQL.
- Experience with Sybase and/or DB2 is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
🔹 Additional Information
- Experience in investment banking is not required.
- Strong adaptability, ownership, and communication skills are essential.
- The team works with:
- Frontend: HTML5 / JavaScript
- Middleware: Java services
- Backend: Sybase / DB2
- Development cycles follow Agile, with 2–6 week iterations.
