About the Role Innovvision Solutech is partnering with one of the largest Tech Exchanges in the world to scale and maintain a mission-critical clearing platform. This system processes millions of position records daily across global member firms, instruments, and complex settlement workflows.
To be completely upfront: This is not a greenfield role. You won’t be spinning up blank repositories or writing generic CRUD APIs. Instead, you will be the tactical engineer digging into production incidents, tracing bugs through complex multi-service flows, and making precise, well-reasoned fixes in a low-latency environment where correctness is absolute.
What we look for
Technical Expertise:
- Modern Java (Java 17+): Deeply comfortable with records, sealed classes, and switch expressions to write clean, idiomatic code, not just knowing the syntax.
- Distributed Systems: Solid grasp of event sourcing (Kafka), RESTful APIs, at-least-once delivery, and distributed failure modes. (We use Google Guice for DI).
- Testing & Debugging: Experience with TestNG and live integration testing. Ability to calmly trace a production hash mismatch through mappers, DAOs, and validators under pressure.
- Domain Literacy: Ability to read an OCC business rules document and reason about position records and options expiry days.
- The Essentials: Precision in communication, an ownership mindset, and comfort working with European clients and colleagues across time zones.
Bonus Points (Nice to have, but not mandatory):
- Exposure to React (for internal tools or minor frontend tweaks)
- Experience with alternative messaging systems (MQ)
- Experience with observability and logging tools like Splunk
