About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Developer with 4-5 years of hands-on experience to join our dynamic team in Ahmedabad. This on-site role offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of critical backend systems, contribute to architectural decisions, and develop high-quality, production-ready code. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive mindset, demonstrate technical excellence, and have the ability to lead and mentor junior team members when needed. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, QA, and UI/UX designers within an Agile environment to deliver scalable and secure backend solutions that meet business needs.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a strong educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields. Proven professional experience of 4-5 years in Java backend development is essential. Proficiency in frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and REST API design is required. Familiarity with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL, as well as NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch, is necessary. Additional experience with ETL tools like Apache Nifi, batch processing, and search modules will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate excellent debugging skills, the ability to handle large datasets, and a strong understanding of system performance optimization techniques. Prior leadership experience or mentoring capabilities are preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance backend systems utilizing Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Design and implement multi-module architectures, reusable services, and microservice components aligned with best practices.
- Build, test, and optimize REST APIs, data pipelines, search modules, and integration workflows to ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability.
- Work extensively with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, as well as NoSQL solutions like Elasticsearch, to support complex queries and data operations.
- Implement search functionalities, filters, sorting mechanisms, batch processing, and handle high-volume data operations efficiently.
- Create export utilities for CSV, Excel, and PDF formats using tools like Apache POI and IText, ensuring data accuracy and security.
- Optimize system performance through query tuning, indexing, caching strategies, and overall system tuning.
- Develop secure backend modules including role-based access control (RBAC), authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Identify and troubleshoot production issues, maintain clean and maintainable code, and conduct comprehensive code reviews to uphold quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within an Agile development environment to deliver projects on time and within scope.
