We are looking for an experienced Java Architect with 18+ Years of deep expertise in designing and building large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native microservices architectures. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Java-based enterprise platforms, API governance, scalable system design, DevOps practices, and architecture leadership across cross-functional engineering teams.
This role requires someone who can drive architecture decisions, define technology standards, mentor engineering teams, and design highly scalable, resilient, and secure systems for high-volume enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect enterprise-grade applications using Java and Microservices architecture
- Lead architecture discussions and define scalable distributed system designs
- Drive migration strategies from monolithic applications to microservices-based platforms
- Define API governance standards, versioning strategies, and reusable architecture patterns
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, security, and product teams to ensure scalable solution delivery
- Design cloud-native architectures using Kubernetes, containers, and modern CI/CD practices
- Review system designs across teams and ensure adherence to architectural standards
- Create and review technical specifications, architecture documents, Swagger/OpenAPI specifications, and solution blueprints
- Drive performance optimization, resiliency engineering, and production scalability initiatives
- Define observability and monitoring strategies for distributed systems
- Participate in incident reviews, root cause analysis, and production architecture improvements
- Mentor development teams on design principles, scalability patterns, and engineering best practices
Required Technical Skills
Core Java & Backend
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and RESTful APIs
- Deep understanding of Microservices Architecture and distributed systems
- Experience designing highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems
- Strong knowledge of asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures
- Expertise in API design standards and API lifecycle management
Architecture & System Design
- Experience designing systems handling high transaction volumes and large-scale user traffic
- Strong understanding of:
- Service decomposition strategies
- API Gateway patterns
- Load balancing
- Horizontal scaling
- Caching strategies
- Database partitioning and sharding
- Distributed transactions and resiliency patterns
- Experience with domain-driven design (DDD) and clean architecture principles
API Governance & Documentation
- Experience writing and reviewing:
- Swagger/OpenAPI Specifications
- API contracts
- Technical design documents
- Architecture specifications
- Strong focus on API usability, versioning, backward compatibility, and developer experience
Cloud & DevOps
- Hands-on experience with:
- Kubernetes
- Docker
- CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure automation
- Cloud-native deployment models
- Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP cloud platforms
- Knowledge of deployment strategies such as blue-green, canary, and rolling deployments
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
Security & Reliability
- Strong understanding of:
- Authentication & Authorization
- OAuth2 / JWT
- Zero Trust Security principles
- API Security
- Encryption and secrets management
- Experience designing secure distributed systems
