About the Department
The position oversees summer day camp activities for youth.
Position Duties
Day Camp Staff members are responsible for working with day camp children between the ages of 6 - 12 years of age.
Day Camp Staff members will oversee activities including games, arts and crafts, field trips, pool trips and other planned activities.
Day Camp Staff members are required to attend all scheduled orientations and trainings prior to the beginning of camp.
Work Schedule: 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, days may vary Monday through Friday (32 - 40 hours per week).
Anticipated Hire Date: May 18, 2026
Tentative Camp Dates: June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026
Approximate Camp Dates: eight to nine weeks
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 18 years of age.
Possess First Aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain certification (if not certified, class will be offered).
Other Qualifications
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in customer service and public relations.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to complete assigned work within established deadlines in accordance with directives, policies, standards, and prescribed procedures.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with management, employees, members of the general public and other groups involved in the activities of the County as they relate to the department.
