Company Description SHANKH GEO-STRUCTURAL TESTING AND CONSULTANCY LLP operates a specialized Soil, NDT, and Material Testing Laboratory focused on assessing the physical, mechanical, and chemical properties of construction materials. The team conducts both laboratory and field tests on soil, rock, cement, concrete, bitumen, steel, and related materials to support safe and reliable construction. The laboratory also provides non-destructive testing (NDT) services for sub-structures and super-structures to evaluate structural integrity without causing damage. By combining technical expertise and accurate testing, the company supports quality assurance in civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gandhidham-Kachchh for ITI Technicians, Diploma Civil Engineers, B.E. Civil Engineers, and M.E. Civil Engineers. The role involves performing laboratory and field tests on soil, rock, concrete, bitumen, steel, and other construction materials in line with relevant standards and procedures. The team member will assist in setting up test equipment, collecting samples from project sites, recording observations, and maintaining accurate test data and logs. Responsibilities include supporting non-destructive testing (NDT) of sub-structures and super-structures, preparing basic test reports, and coordinating with senior engineers on data interpretation. The role also includes maintaining lab instruments, following safety protocols, and collaborating with colleagues to meet project timelines and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Civil Engineering, including basic Civil Engineering principles and exposure to Civil Engineering Design.
- Ability to work with General Construction practices, site procedures, and an understanding of construction materials and methods.
- Effective Communication skills for coordinating with engineers, technicians, and clients, and for documenting test results clearly.
- Relevant qualification such as ITI (Civil/Survey/Lab) and/or Diploma in Civil Engineering and/or B.E. Civil and/or M.E. Civil from a recognized institution.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory and field testing of soil and construction materials; prior experience in testing or NDT is an added benefit.
- Ability to follow technical standards, safety guidelines, and quality procedures with attention to detail.
- Willingness to work on-site, perform field visits, and handle physically active tasks as required.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office) for data entry and report preparation.
