Overview
The ITI Fitter plays a crucial role in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of machinery and equipment in various industrial settings. The primary objective of this position is to ensure that all tools and machinery operate efficiently and safely, contributing to overall operational excellence. Candidates in this role will be expected to apply their technical expertise to troubleshoot malfunctions, perform repairs, and work collaboratively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and machinery.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Conduct repairs and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Use hand and power tools effectively to execute tasks.
- Perform quality checks and debugging to prevent operational failures.
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to improve operational processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Document all procedures, repairs, and maintenance carried out on machinery.
- Identify potential issues in machinery and suggest solutions proactively.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Experience in fabricating and assembling mechanical components.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and electrical basics is an asset.
- Ability to perform maintenance tasks in accordance with established protocols.
- Skilled in using diagnostic and testing equipment for machinery evaluation.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of ITI Fitter certification or equivalent vocational training.
- Minimum educational qualification: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant industry certifications or further training may be advantageous.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation purposes are preferred.

- Proven experience as an ITI Fitter or in a similar role within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated capability to learn new technologies and processes quickly.
