Purpose
The Assembly Operator coordinates finished parts and components and uses hands or hand-tools to assemble final product for delivery to shipping and receiving department.
Essential Functions
- Successfully complete production assignments within the allotted task time and per the work instructions.
- Set up work stations for efficiency
- Fully understands time component of job completion and has a bias for action.
- Complete visual inspections of both in-process and finished products
- Report any safety or quality issues to the appropriate personnel
- Safety Champion identifying unsafe conditions, fully knowledgeable on completion of incident reports, actively works towards a safer environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Manual dexterity: ability to use hand tools and other equipment as needed in the allotted time
- Identify concerns and provide insight for continuous improvement opportunities
- Other related assembly duties based on the needs of the business. Specifically, may be cross-trained to provide support to other departments during non-peak production hours.
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Previous work experience a plus
- Must be able to read a tape measure

- On-going and relevant safety training
- Enterprise-wide initiatives (Plex, etc.)
- Targeted functional training (machining, process, hand tools, etc.)
- May be selected for Waterjet or Line-X cross-training

Work Environment
Work is performed on a shop floor. Position requires standing for the entire shift. Work environment is fast-paced, and employee must be able to multi-task. Exposure to noise and/or cold and heat may occur.
