The Vacancy
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused IT Support Engineer to join our team in Chennai, supporting over 400+ users across the business and acting as the local IT expert to our Chennai teams. Reporting to the IT Edge Capability Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring employees have the technology, tools, and access required to perform their roles efficiently and securely.
This is a hands-on position where you will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues both remotely and on-site, working across a modern IT environment that includes Microsoft 365, Windows 11, IGEL Thin Client, Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and 3CX VOIP telephony.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and must be willing to work flexible shifts aligned with UK operating hours, particularly during the first 3–6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, manage, and maintain user accounts across Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other business systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to desktops, operating systems, and applications
- Set up and configure IT equipment including laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades of user devices
- Install and configure Windows operating systems and business-critical applications
- Diagnose and resolve basic network connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN)
- Manage and prioritise support tickets via the ITSM platform, ensuring timely resolution
- Provide support for VOIP systems, including handset configuration and call routing
- Support mobile device setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate asset records within the IT Asset Database
- Ensure secure decommissioning and disposal of IT equipment in line with data protection and environmental standards
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in an IT support or helpdesk environment
- Strong technical knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Intune, and endpoint security tools
- Solid understanding of basic networking principles
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a logical, analytical approach
- Strong communication skills with a customer-first mindset
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
Desirable:
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
- Experience supporting logistics or warehousing environments
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
