About The Role
We are seeking experienced IT Support Engineers to join our remote team at Programmers.io. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in supporting MSP clients, managing diverse IT environments, and resolving complex technical issues efficiently. This role involves providing remote technical support across multiple domains, including Microsoft 365 administration, operating systems, network troubleshooting, virtualization, and cloud services. The IT Support Engineer will act as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring timely resolution of issues, maintaining system stability, and implementing best practices for security and performance. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a talented team, utilize advanced tools and technologies, and contribute to the success of our clients’ IT operations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience supporting MSP clients and managing diverse IT environments. A strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Windows and Linux operating systems, and virtualization technologies is essential. Candidates should have experience with RMM tools, ticketing systems, and MSP documentation platforms. Excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting are crucial. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, CompTIA Network+, or similar are preferred. A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and staying updated with industry trends is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Provide remote technical support to MSP clients, troubleshooting issues related to operating systems, network configurations, and virtualization environments.
- Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 environments, including user management, licensing, and security configurations.
- Monitor client systems using RMM tools, perform proactive maintenance, and ensure optimal system performance.
- Assist in configuring and troubleshooting network components such as firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN setups.
- Handle ticketing and documentation tasks efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely updates in systems like HaloPSA, IT Glue, or equivalent.
- Support endpoint security measures, including threat detection, malware removal, and implementing security best practices with tools like Microsoft Defender, ThreatLocker, and SentinelOne.
- Participate in virtualization projects involving VMware vSphere/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Assist clients with cloud services on Azure and AWS, including basic resource management and troubleshooting.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as patch management, backup verification, and software deployment using tools like PDQ Deploy.
- Collaborate with team members to develop automation scripts using PowerShell or other scripting languages to improve efficiency.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, new tools, and best practices to continually improve service delivery.
