Job Summary
The IT Release Coordinator at LPL Financial Corp is responsible for managing and coordinating the release process of software applications and infrastructure changes, ensuring timely, efficient, and high-quality deployments that minimize risk and disruption to business operations. They will work closely with the Release Managers to develop and maintain the release plan.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and control the end-to-end release lifecycle, working closely with development, testing, operations, and business teams.
- Develop and maintain the release calendar, ensuring clear communication of release schedules, scope, and impact to all stakeholders.
- Establish and enforce release policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency and quality across all releases.
- Facilitate Go/No-Go meetings, ensuring all necessary approvals and readiness criteria are met before deployment.
- Manage release risks, identify potential conflicts, and work with teams to develop mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate the creation and execution of deployment plans, rollback plans, and communication plans for each release.
- Track and report on release progress, issues, and successes to management and relevant teams.
- Conduct post-release reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices into future release cycles.
- Ensure that release documentation is comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with various IT teams to optimize release processes and tools.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in IT release management, project management, or a similar coordination role within a financial services or highly regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and ITIL framework, particularly Change and Release Management processes.
- Experience with release management tools (e.g., Jira, DevOps, ServiceNow).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.
