About The Role

Vistance is recruiting an Analyst, IT Operations Linux to join our team based in Bangalore. This critical role involves managing and maintaining our Unix-based enterprise infrastructure to ensure maximum availability and reliability. The Analyst will be responsible for supporting VMware and Nutanix virtualized environments, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and planning upgrades. The role requires a proactive approach to system management, ensuring that all infrastructure components operate seamlessly to support our business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Linux administration, virtualization, and networking, with a focus on delivering high-quality support and continuous improvement of our IT environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated competencies include extensive experience in Linux administration, Unix systems, and virtualization technologies such as VMware and Nutanix. Proven scripting skills in shell or interpreted languages are essential, along with experience managing cloud tenants on platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure. Additional qualifications include experience with Solaris administration, storage solutions (SAN/NAS), configuration management tools like Ansible, and familiarity with systems management and backup solutions. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills are vital for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Implement, manage, and maintain CommScope’s Unix-based enterprise infrastructure supporting critical business systems.
• Oversee storage solutions such as SAN and NAS for Linux, Nutanix, and VMware environments.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system malfunctions across servers, storage, network, and hardware components.
• Monitor system usage, capacity, and performance; coordinate with users and vendors to address issues and evolving requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive system documentation, including licensing, hardware/software inventory, security data, and network diagrams.
• Plan and execute upgrades to hardware and software, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
• Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.
• Administer Linux (UNIX) systems, including scripting and automation to streamline operations.
• Manage VMware vSphere environments, ensuring high availability and optimal resource utilization.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking components such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan infrastructure projects, provide technical guidance, and support system integrations.
• Manage the ticketing system for issue resolution, ensuring timely and effective responses to user requests.
• Train non-technical staff on complex system functions, enhancing overall team productivity.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, recommending enhancements to systems and processes.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned to support organizational goals.
