Role Overview
The Legal Head at iSprout will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters of the company, providing strategic legal advice to senior management, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
This role involves working closely with various internal teams, external legal counsel, and regulatory bodies to mitigate legal risks and protect the company's interests.
The Legal Head will play a critical role in shaping the company's legal strategy and ensuring its long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the company's legal strategy to align with business objectives and minimize legal risks.
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior management on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage all litigation matters, including overseeing external counsel, developing case strategies, and representing the company's interests in legal proceedings.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with legal requirements.
- Conduct thorough legal research to stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations and advise the company on their potential impact.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Identify and assess potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including corporate governance, labor laws, and data privacy regulations.
- Conduct due diligence reviews in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on legal and compliance matters.
Required Skillset
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute legal strategies that support business objectives.
- Proven expertise in corporate law, contract law, litigation management, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills, with the ability to effectively represent the company's interests.
- Strong legal writing and research skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear and concise advice.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of labour laws and their application in a corporate setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) required; Master's degree in Law (LLM) preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
