- Location: Anacortes, WA/ Onsite
- Schedule: Per Diem / Days
- Salary Range: $32.53 – $48.78 per hour
The Clinical Dietician plans and directs preparation and service of diets prescribed by the physician.
What you will be doing:
- Consults medical, nursing, and social service staffs concerning problems affecting patients' food habits and needs.
- Formulates menus for therapeutic diets based on indicated physiological and psychological needs of patients and integrates them with basic institutional menus.
- Evaluates nutritional adequacy of patients' menus.
- Inspects meals served for conformance to prescribed diet and standards of palatability and appearance.
- Instructs individuals and families on nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection and preparation.
- Plans, organizes and conducts educational programs for dietary staff, nurses, physicians, patients and community.
- Reviews medical diet orders.
- Maintains current diet manual.
What you will bring to the role:
- Current ADA Dietetic Registration
- Current Dietician License issued by WA state
- Must maintain current Food Handler’s Permit issued by WA state
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a clinical or therapeutic dietician in a hospital setting.
- Can demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and can identify each employee’s and patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to show compassion and understanding necessary for working with people of varying backgrounds.
