Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an IPDRG Coder based in Chennai. The role involves analyzing patient medical records to assign appropriate codes based on established guidelines, ensuring accurate identification of DRGs (Diagnosis Related Groups). The IPDRG Coder will work collaboratively within the team to maintain coding accuracy and compliance. Responsibilities also include meeting productivity standards, adhering to applicable coding guidelines, assisting in audits, and consistently staying updated on coding standards and regulations.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in medical coding, including experience with ICD-10, CPT, and DRG coding systems
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and healthcare procedures
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and payer-specific coding guidelines
- Attention to detail, accuracy in reviewing medical records, and analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Certification such as CPC, CCS, or equivalent is preferred
- Prior experience in medical coding, specifically inpatient coding, is beneficial
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in healthcare or a related field
