Job Summary:
We are seeking a Project Manager to mentor and guide learner teams as they design intelligent water-management solutions for sustainable agriculture. The PM will support learners through a structured, sprint-based XPro, helping them understand irrigation challenges, interpret sensor datasets, build simple automation logic, and develop conceptual digital-twin or IoT-based system designs. The role combines strong facilitation, clarity of communication, and the ability to translate complex agritech, data, and sustainability concepts into accessible guidance for learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help learners understand the global and Indian water challenges, especially the Cauvery basin context.
- Guide teams in analysing sensor, flow, and environmental datasets used in irrigation systems.
- Support comprehension of irrigation fundamentals, water productivity concepts, and Measure→Model→Manage thinking.
- Mentor students in developing simple rule-based or ML-based automation logic for water allocation.
- Help learners validate system logic through error-handling and anomaly-detection concepts.
- Facilitate understanding of IoT, digital twins, and dashboarding for water-system visualisation.
- Reinforce sustainability, equity, and ethical automation frameworks during design decisions.
- Ensure learners can justify their design choices using data-driven reasoning and real-world cases (e.g., Rubicon Water technologies).
- Coach teams to develop a conceptual autonomous canal or drip-irrigation system using the provided datasets. Lead, mentor, and anchor learner project teams throughout all sprints and deliverables.
- Introduce learners to the problem statement, agile approach, and tools such as Taiga/Play Portal.
- Create official communication channels, set ground rules, and maintain professional learner engagement.
- Assign weekly tasks, run weekly team meetings, track attendance, and monitor progress.
- Review learner submissions, provide structured feedback, and prepare teams for PO presentations.
- Conduct sprint retrospectives, update sprint reports, and escalate issues where required.
- Maintain professional communication boundaries and uphold Emp.life conduct standards.
- Train and mentor new PMs as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, environmental datasets, control logic, or digital agriculture concepts.
- Familiarity with basic analytics, rule-based modelling, or introductory machine-learning concepts.
- Understanding of sustainability metrics, SDG 6 (water), or ethical considerations in automated systems.
- Experience in IoT, sensor data, or system-integration concepts (preferred but not mandatory).
- Demonstrated capability in learner engagement, mentoring, facilitation, and structured communication.
- Strong project-management experience with planning, execution, and sprint-based delivery.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in simple, professional, and structured ways.
Educational Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s in Agriculture, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, Data Science, or related fields.
· Certifications in project management (Agile/PMP) are preferred.
Professional Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in agritech, sustainability projects, irrigation, IoT systems, data analysis, or related fields.
- Experience mentoring student teams or junior engineers/ interns in project-based or academic environments.
· Exposure to agile methodologies and collaborative digital tools.
Performance Expectations & KPIs:
- Timely completion of sprint deliverables by learner teams.
- High learner engagement and satisfaction.
- Quality and industry relevance of the project outcomes.
- Adherence to Agile ceremonies, documentation, and escalation processes.
- Positive feedback from Product Owner and delivery leadership.
