Job Summary:
We are seeking a Product Owner with domain expertise in water systems, automation, or agritech to evaluate and guide learner teams working on intelligent irrigation-system designs. The PO will review sprint deliverables, offer industry-aligned insights, illustrate real-world practices, and ensure the learning outcomes are met. The role requires deep conceptual clarity and the ability to translate industry experiences into impactful learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the learners’ understanding of water-management problems, irrigation fundamentals, and key sustainability issues.
- Assess learner capability in analysing and interpreting sensor and flow datasets.
- Review the logic and quality of rule-based/ML-based water-control algorithms proposed by teams.
- Provide expert input on control systems, automation behaviour, and anomaly-handling approaches.
- Guide refinement of conceptual digital twins, IoT architectures, and dashboards created by learners.
- Ensure ethical, sustainability, and equity perspectives are reflected throughout the teams’ design decisions.
- Help learners connect their work to industry innovations such as Rubicon Water’s control systems.
- Provide final ratings and guidance on the practical feasibility and conceptual strength of the system designs.
- Interact with learner teams at the end of every sprint to review progress and deliver feedback.
- Discuss concepts using real workplace examples to demonstrate expected standards.
- Evaluate sprint deliverables and rate Non-Technical Team Assessment.
- Mentor PMs and contribute to content development as needed.
- Uphold professional conduct, maintain boundaries, and follow Emp.life guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Expertise in irrigation engineering, water-resources management, agritech systems, or control automation.
- Familiarity with environmental data, sensor networks, IoT systems, or digital-twin frameworks.
- Understanding of sustainability frameworks and ethical considerations in automated agriculture.
- Strong mentoring, communication, and evaluation skills.
- Ability to contextualise concepts with industry examples.
Educational Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s in Agriculture Engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, Automation & Control, Data Science, or related fields.
· Advanced certifications in IoT, control systems, agritech, or sustainability (optional).
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 10-12 years in water-resources management, irrigation automation, agritech R&D, or IoT-based system design.
- Experience with mentoring, academic collaborations, or workplace simulations is preferred.
Performance Expectations & KPIs:
- Quality of learner deliverables evaluated and improved across sprints.
- Effectiveness of mentoring sessions and conceptual guidance.
- Consistency in review timelines and assessment rigor.
- Learner and PM feedback on PO engagement and insights.
- Contribution to content improvement and delivery refinement.
