About The Role
Assists in planning, implementing, and monitoring curriculum and assessments in the State funded grant program of the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP). This position will assist with the daily operation of the program to promotes children’s readiness in the developmental domains of language and literacy, social emotional, mathematics, physical development and cognitive development utilizing the Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold Assessment.
Qualifications Desired
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Meets the LARA, Child Care Licensing Division requirements as a "Caregiver"
- Experience with preschool aged or at-risk students preferred
- Interpersonal skills which promote positive personal relationships with students, parents, staff and community is required

JOB TITLE: Great Start Readiness Center Assistant
DEPARTMENT: General Education-GSRP
REPORTS TO: Director of Instruction and Learning
WORK LOCATION: GSRP classrooms in Ionia County ISD
WORK SCHEDULE: 168 days
SALARY SCHEDULE: Per the GSRP Staff Policies and Procedures for Center Assistants
REPLACEMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Meets the LARA, Child Care Licensing Division requirements as a “caregiver”
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in planning, implementing, and monitoring curriculum and assessment
• Assist in establishing a positive environment for students and families
• Assist in developing a working relationship with all staff
• Assist in daily operation of the program
• Regular and consistent attendance
• Other duties as assigned
Other knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to interpret, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions in order to perform
duties described above.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
• High level of discretion and integrity

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, other GSRP
team members, students and families. Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in
writing.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills are required.
REASONING ABILITY:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram
form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
