About The Role

Provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences for four-year old children through the State funded grant program of the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP). This position will assist with the daily operation of the program to promotes children’s readiness in the developmental domains of language and literacy, social emotional, mathematics, physical development and cognitive development utilizing the Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold Assessment.

Qualifications Desired

  • Associates Degree in Early Childhood/Preschool Education or Child Development Associate credential (CDA)
  • Experience with preschool aged or at-risk students preferred
  • Interpersonal skills which promote positive personal relationships with students, parents, staff and community is required

Job Description
JOB TITLE: Great Start Readiness Program Associate Teacher
REPORTS TO: Director of Instruction and Learning
WORK SCHEDULE: 168 days
SALARY SCHEDULE: Salary and benefits in accordance with GSRP Staff Policies and
Procedures.
REPLACEMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood/Preschool Education or Child Development or Child
Development Associate Credential (CDA) preferred.
• Prior classroom experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Regular and consistent attendance
• Support age and developmentally appropriate learning experiences with a classroom of
four-year old children resulting in their successful transition into kindergarten
• Assist in planning, implementation and monitoring of curriculum and assessment
• Assist in establishing a positive involvement of parents
• Assist in developing a positive working relationship with all staff
• Assist in daily operation of the program
• Other duties as assigned

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to interpret, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions in order to perform
duties described above.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
• High level of discretion and integrity
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of
administrators, staff, student, parents, and the general public. Communicate clearly and
concisely both orally and in writing.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills are required.
REASONING ABILITY:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or
diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
situations.
