Senior Talend Developer

Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Talend Developer to join our data engineering team. This role requires a hands-on expert in Talend Data Integration, who will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing ETL/ELT processes that power our enterprise data ecosystem. You will play a key role in building robust data pipelines, supporting data migration, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Talend (Big Data, Data Fabric, or Open Studio).
• Work closely with data architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand data integration needs.
• Integrate data from multiple on-premise and cloud-based sources into a centralized data warehouse or data lake.
• Create and manage Talend jobs, routes, and workflows; schedule and monitor job execution using Talend Administration Center (TAC).
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all systems.
• Optimize existing jobs for performance, reusability, and maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews, establish best practices, and mentor junior developers on Talend standards and design.
• Troubleshoot data integration issues and support ongoing data operations.
• Document technical designs, data flows, and operational procedures.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Talend ETL tools (Talend Data Integration / Talend Big Data Platform).
• Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and data modeling concepts (star/snowflake schemas).
• Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON/XML, and file formats (CSV, Parquet, Avro).
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, or other DevOps/CI-CD tools.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and metadata management best practices.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Talend Cloud, Talend Pipeline Designer, or Talend Data Preparation tools.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or other modern data platforms.
• Knowledge of Java or Python is a strong plus.
• Talend certification(s) or equivalent experience highly desirable.
