Job Description Role: Investor Relations for offshore (India dedicated) fund based out of Mauritius, an SMA and an Indian AIF3, investing in listed equities. Prime responsibilities would be pertaining to Offshore business (non-AIF 3) which accounts for 95% of the assets. Location: HQ - Gurgaon- One Horizon Building (Golf Course Road); or Mumbai – The Capital Building (BKC). Experience: Minimum 10 and up to 25 years of total experience with relevant experience of at least 4 years.
Job description:
1. Investor Servicing: Periodic updating and sharing of performance updates, presentations, exposures, attribution and other data with existing institutional investors and prospective investors of offshore fund, answering investor queries in coordination with consultants/administrators/COO, investment team. This includes audit confirmations, tax confirmations, ongoing diligence updates by filling diligence questionaries of investors, offline or on online portals such as on Diligence Vault, and filling diligence questionnaires of Global Consultants such as Albourne, Cambridge Associates and other similar firms.
2. Subscriptions/redemptions and queries: Coordination with administrator of offshore fund primarily, and also RTA of AIF3, for subscriptions, redemptions, KYC, signing of side letters, as relevant.
3. Operational Due Diligences: Handling Operational Due Diligences with investor teams or institutional consultants; coordinating with internal teams for risk/investment diligences; preparing collaterals for meetings; Setting up of data room for investors; Updating of due diligence questionnaires.
4. Side Letters: Working on side letters with institutional investors. The firm has already templates, but every investor has his own specific requirements. This would require coordination with along with the COO, CIO and lawyers from US, India, Mauritius to understand nuances of these clauses/country specific laws. Monitoring of side letters to avoid breach.
5. Investor Engagement: Organizing VC’s, meetings and engaging with investors who visit Mumbai/Gurgaon along with the CIO and following up on next steps.
Functional Competencies: Conceptual understanding of various concepts such as pre-tax and post-tax returns, hurdle (hard/soft/relative), calculation of performance fee, fee reversals, drawdowns, holding analysis and attribution metrices of the Fund over time – market cap based and sector based, portfolio concentration. Understanding of various benchmarks, ADV, PE and other terms related to investment land scape are required to answer queries of investors.
Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, self-driven, process oriented and organised with an eye for detail, able to process and remember numbers. Experience of having worked on Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
The job involves coordinating with the CIO, COO, administrator, lawyers and investing team to answer queries of existing and prospective investors. The person should be capable of independently and logically answering larger number of regular/standard queries based on experience and by referring to firm database of past responses, side letters and ODDs. Other Ancillary functions not compulsory.
1. Regulatory Reporting: Knowledge of investor related US-regulatory reporting including ERA/ADV, Form D, FINRA Entitlement, Blue Sky and Edgar Filings.
2. Additional: Knowledge of structuring of new funds/structures in India or overseas, gift city.
3. Annual Investor Letters: Proof reading of bi-annual letters to investors.
4. Others: Depending on skill set, involvement in policy making, managing IT, Administration and HR functions.
Long Innings: The firm shares carry with mid and senior people over a longer time horizon – 3 years. The job is therefore suitable for people with a long-term mindset.
