Job Description (JD): Investment Banking Intern
(Debt & Equity Syndication + M&A)

Role: Investment Banking Intern
Location: Mumbai
Duration: 8–12 weeks (extendable / PPO opportunity)
Stipend: As per company policy
Role Objective
Work closely with the Investment Banking team to support debt syndication, equity fundraising, and M&A transactions. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to live deals across the full lifecycle—from pitch to closure.
Key Responsibilities
1) Debt & Equity Syndication Support
Assist in preparing Information Memorandums (IMs), Teasers, Pitch Decks for lenders and investors
Support financial modeling and valuation analysis for fundraising transactions
Conduct research on banks, NBFCs, PE/VC funds, family offices, and institutional investors
Help manage data rooms and investor/lender communication
2) M&A Transaction Support
Assist in buy-side and sell-side mandates
Prepare company profiles, industry research, and comparable analysis
Support valuation work (comps, precedent transactions, basic DCF understanding)
Help in preparing management presentations and deal materials
Track potential buyers/sellers and maintain outreach lists
3) Financial Analysis & Research
Analyze financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Perform ratio analysis, working capital assessment, and cash flow evaluation
Conduct industry research, market sizing, and competitive benchmarking
4) Execution & Coordination
Coordinate with clients, investors, banks, and internal teams for data and updates
Maintain trackers for deal progress (pipeline → discussions → term sheet → closure)
Assist in follow-ups and documentation during live transactions
5) Documentation & Data Management
Help prepare and organize data rooms, financial packs, and due diligence materials
Support compliance documentation like KYC, financial statements, and investor decks
Learning Outcomes
Real exposure to Investment Banking functions (Debt + Equity + M&A)
Understanding of fundraising strategies and deal structuring
Hands-on experience in financial modeling, valuation, and transaction execution
Direct interaction exposure with investors, lenders, and founders
Required Qualifications
Recently completed MBA / PGDM / Master’s (Finance, Economics, or related field)
Strong academic foundation in finance and accounting
Skills Required
Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills
Basic understanding of:
Financial statements
Valuation concepts (DCF, comps – basic level)
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
Good communication and ability to work in fast-paced environments
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Prior internship in investment banking, consulting, PE/VC, or corporate finance
Exposure to financial modeling or valuation tools
Interest in startups, capital markets, and deal-making
