Role Summary: We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Central Inventory Controller to drive centralized inventory management across multiple manufacturing locations. This role will be responsible for optimizing Raw Material (RM) and Packaging Material (PM) inventory levels, reducing working capital, improving inventory health, and ensuring uninterrupted material availability while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Analytics & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain inventory MIS, dashboards, and performance reports for RM and PM inventory.
- Publish weekly and monthly inventory reports and KPIs.
- Develop and monitor 3-month inventory projections.
- Track inventory receipt and consumption against plan.
- Review and update safety stock parameters periodically.
- Analyze safety stock adherence and inventory performance.
- Maintain SAP Material Master data accuracy.
- Conduct write-off, non-moving, slow-moving, near-expiry, and blocked stock analysis.
- Drive monthly inventory reviews with actionable recommendations.
Inventory Control & Optimization
- Lead initiatives for liquidation of non-moving and slow-moving inventory.
- Identify and execute inter-plant stock transfers to optimize inventory utilization.
- Coordinate with Procurement and external partners for disposal or sale of obsolete inventory.
- Evaluate alternative material consumption opportunities through code-to-code utilization.
- Drive clearance of blocked and restricted stock on a monthly basis.
- Coordinate cancellation of outdated or schedule-out purchase orders.
- Raise manual purchase requisitions for near-expiry, alternate vendor, and artwork change materials where required.
Material Requirement Planning (MRP) Coordination
- Collaborate with Procurement, Demand Planning, and Manufacturing teams to align material requirements.
- Ensure accurate SAP master data management, including safety stock, lead times, and reorder parameters.
- Monitor and report critical shortages of APIs and packaging materials.
- Support inventory planning decisions through data-driven insights.
Governance & Compliance
- Establish, maintain, and govern inventory management SOPs.
- Ensure audit readiness and adherence to internal controls and compliance requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management processes.
Technical Competencies & Key Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP ERP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, advanced formulas, and Macros.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical material planning and inventory management practices.
- Proven experience in inventory management within the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make data-driven decisions.
- Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics.
