Company Description Helping Hand Katjunagar is a youth-led initiative founded in 2014 to protest and act against child abuse and child labor in India. The organization focuses on empowering young people to move beyond passive criticism and actively contribute to social change. Through campaigns such as candlelight marches and collaborations with partners like Cancer Fight Foundation, ACTT, Tagore Foundation, Iswar Sankalpa, and international partner TDRO (Ireland), Helping Hand works to support vulnerable children and communities. The mission is to reduce child abuse, promote education and play for children, and create meaningful change without competing with other organizations. The group’s strength lies in its dynamic youth volunteers who believe individual actions can transform society.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Internship Program role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area. Interns will support program planning and coordination, assist in organizing events and awareness campaigns, and help manage outreach activities with local communities and partner organizations. Day-to-day responsibilities include interacting with beneficiaries and stakeholders, maintaining records and reports, supporting training sessions and workshops, and providing responsive service to individuals seeking assistance. Interns will also contribute to communication materials, such as basic documentation and updates, and collaborate closely with team members to ensure programs run smoothly and align with Helping Hand’s mission.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Program Management, including organizing activities, coordinating events, and supporting community initiatives.
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to monitor program outcomes, assess needs, and contribute to problem-solving in challenging situations.
Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to engage with children, families, partners, and team members in a clear, respectful manner.
Candidates should possess Training-related skills to assist in conducting workshops, awareness sessions, and volunteer orientations.
Candidates should possess Customer Service or community service skills to respond empathetically to individuals seeking support and maintain a professional, supportive presence.
Additional beneficial qualifications include interest in child rights and social work, ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams, basic documentation and organizational skills, and willingness to participate in fieldwork within the Kolkata metropolitan area.
