Company Description Tailor your home is an interior design firm founded on diligence, persistence, and commitment to quality. The studio supports clients through conceptual development, space planning, site inspections, and full execution of design projects. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site internship for Interior Designers based in Mumbai. The intern will assist in developing design concepts, preparing mood boards and presentations, and supporting space planning for residential and commercial projects. Daily tasks include helping create construction drawings, coordinating FF&E selections (furniture, fixtures, and equipment), and contributing to material and color schemes. The role involves visiting project sites for inspections, documenting progress, and collaborating with senior designers, vendors, and contractors to ensure design intent is maintained. The intern will also support administrative design activities, such as organizing samples, maintaining project files, and updating design documentation.
Qualifications
- Ability to apply Interior Design and Space Planning principles to functional and aesthetically cohesive interiors.
- Understanding of Architecture fundamentals and their relationship to interior layouts and circulation.
- Skills in preparing and reading Construction Drawings, including plans, sections, and detailed layouts.
- Experience or coursework related to FF&E selection, including furniture, fixtures, finishes, and materials.
- Pursuing or having completed a degree/diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) and basic MS Office tools.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with design teams, vendors, and clients.
- Willingness to learn on site, conduct research on design trends and materials, and take initiative in projects.
