Key Responsibilities:
Policy Development and Collaboration:
- Discuss and collaborate with key stakeholders to form tax policies and position papers.
- Ensure adopted tax positions align with the most prudent and effective tax practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with finance, business, HR, and IT teams to implement tax strategies and policies. Ensure all tax-related activities comply with required regulations and standards.
Process Planning and Implementation:
- Plan and implement new tax processes and systems.
- Conduct training sessions for internal departments to ensure proper execution of new processes.
Advisory Role:
- Provide expert guidance on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
- Ensure all business activities align with tax compliance and optimization strategies.
Tax Compliance Management:
- Oversee and manage all tax compliance activities for India, ensuring timely and accurate filings. Maintain proper documentation required for audits and international transfer pricing compliances.
Detailed Compliance Tasks:
- Manage quarterly advance Corporate Income Tax (CIT) payments for all entities within the group as needed, including preparing relevant tax forecasts as needed.
- Quarterly Withholding Tax (WHT) returns, and monthly WHT payment workings when required.
- Filing or reviewing of annual CIT returns depending on jurisdiction.
- Calculating VAT and Sales Tax as needed for relevant entities within the group, as well as reconciling relevant accounts as required.
- Calculating transfer pricing headquarters allocations, including supporting documentation as needed.
- Prepare employee expense analysis including annual PAYE Settlement Agreement return for the UK entity.
- Supporting with other tax compliance projects and initiatives within the group.
Automation and Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement automation opportunities and process improvements. Focus on time and cost savings for the company through efficient tax processes.
Development and Continuous Learning:
- Keep up to date with latest developments in income tax, international tax, and GST laws.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified CA with over 5 years of experience in tax, with some relevant international tax knowledge.
- High level understanding of income tax, UK VAT, and international tax regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with tax software and ERP systems.
- Proven track record of managing tax compliance processes.
