Job details:
RTE Global, full-time, based in Delhi/New Delhi, India, with regular travel throughout the region. Salary is highly competitive and determined according to experience.
RTE Global is an international education consultancy based in Dubai and led by senior UK higher education professionals. We work closely with UK universities on international student recruitment, partnerships, and transnational education. We are now looking for an International Development Manager to lead recruitment and partner development across India and Sri Lanka for one of our key UK university clients.
This is a critical appointment for both our client and us, and our expectations reflect that importance.
The Role
You will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to grow international student recruitment in India and Sri Lanka. This includes building and managing the agent and partner network, coordinating outreach and conversion campaigns, representing the university at fairs, counsellor briefings, and partner meetings, and analysing market data to produce forecasts and performance reports. All activities must comply with UK visa and regulatory requirements.
A distinctive aspect of this role is the close collaboration with the client university. You will work directly with academic schools, faculties, and professional services teams, presenting to academics, briefing senior staff, coordinating institutional visits, and preparing written reports and papers for senior audiences. Both your written work and your presence in the field will represent you and the university, so excellence in both is essential.
Ultimately, this role is about building relationships. Much of your work will take place in person—connecting with agents who represent many universities, counsellors who value personal connections over brochures, and institutional partners who need to trust you with their students. Your credibility and the way you carry yourself are just as important as your campaign strategies.
The Right Candidate
The most important qualification for this role is an established and active agent network, especially in East and North India and across Sri Lanka. We are looking for genuine working relationships, not just a contact list, agents who take your calls, trust your judgement, and engage with universities because of your influence. If you have spent years building trust on the ground, this position is meant for you.
In addition to your network, you should have real experience in international student recruitment, partnerships, or transnational education, whether in-house, with an agency, or through consultancy. You must be an outstanding communicator, both in writing and in person, able to move seamlessly from agency training sessions to briefings with senior university leaders. Strong diplomatic skills are needed to navigate the layered, consensus-driven structures of a UK university while still achieving results.
You should be comfortable working towards measurable results: you know your numbers, take ownership of your targets, and see accountability as motivation rather than pressure. Knowledge of UK higher education, admissions, and the visa and compliance landscape is a strong advantage. A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is expected, and a postgraduate qualification is an asset. Confidence with CRM systems and data reporting is also important. The role will require regular travel throughout the region.
A note on applying in good faith
This role is central to our client’s plans, so please apply only if you are genuinely ready and able to accept the position if offered. In return, we promise a swift and transparent process, honest feedback, and complete confidentiality at every stage.
