About Our Client — Toorak Capital Partners
You will be part of a dedicated engineering team supporting Toorak Capital Partners, a leading U.S.-based integrated correspondent lending platform that funds residential, multifamily, and mixed-use real estate loans across the U.S. and U.K. Headquartered in Summit, New Jersey, Toorak’s leadership team brings deep expertise across real estate lending, capital markets, securitization, asset management, and credit. To date, Toorak-funded projects have renovated or stabilized housing for 9,000+ families — averaging 500+ families every month. This is a rare opportunity to build mission-critical, cloud-based mortgage technology platforms that directly support one of the most respected players in the global mortgage finance industry
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated QA Automation Intern to support quality engineering initiatives for enterprise mortgage and lending applications covering loan processing, underwriting, document workflows, and servicing systems.
This role is designed for candidates who want to grow into QA Automation Engineer / SDET roles by gaining hands-on experience building automation using Playwright with JavaScript across modern web and API-driven platforms. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams within an Agile environment and contribute directly to product quality improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain test scenarios aligned with functional and business requirements
- Develop and enhance automation scripts using Playwright (JavaScript)
- Execute functional, regression, and smoke testing cycles
- Automate end-to-end mortgage workflows (loan application, document handling, status tracking)
- Perform API validation using Postman or similar tools
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution
- Debug failures using logs, browser developer tools, and network/API analysis
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with engineering teams
- Support reusable automation utilities and test data preparation
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT or related field (Final year or recent graduate)
- Understanding of SDLC/STLC and software testing fundamentals
- Basic programming knowledge in JavaScript
- Awareness of web applications, HTTP concepts, and REST APIs
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Good communication and collaboration skills
Preferred
- Exposure to Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or automation projects
- API testing using Postman
- Git/version control familiarity
- Agile/Scrum exposure
- Basic database or client–server architecture knowledge
