Background
The Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), established in 1956, is a distinguished institution of excellence located in Hyderabad. It operates as an autonomous, self-sustaining organization with the aim of providing policy insights and building the capacity of professionals in government and public enterprises. Governed by a Court of Governors comprising eminent figures across sectors such as administration, education, technology, and more, ASCI integrates multi-sectoral perspectives into its training and research activities. The Centre for Management Studies (CMS) at the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) undertakes advisory, research, and capacity-building assignments in areas such as public procurement, contract management, governance, and institutional strengthening. To support internal project execution, documentation, research, and coordination functions, CMS proposes to engage a Project Intern on a fixed-term basis.
Role Description
The objective of this internship is to support CMS project teams in desk-based research, documentation, and internal coordination, while providing structured professional exposure to consulting assignments in public procurement and contract management.
Scope of Work
Desk Research & Knowledge Support
- Conduct secondary research on topics related to public procurement, contract management, governance, policy, and institutional strengthening.
- Review policy documents, manuals, frameworks, and relevant literature.
- Compile background notes, briefing papers, and literature summaries.
- Support preparation of concept notes and internal knowledge products.
Report Writing & Documentation
- Assist in drafting project reports, internal notes, and analytical summaries.
- Prepare structured write-ups based on inputs from senior team members.
- Edit, format, and quality-check documents for clarity and consistency.
- Maintain proper documentation and organized digital records of project files.
Presentation & Communication Support
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations for internal reviews and client interactions.
- Assist in development of training materials and workshop content.
- Convert technical inputs into clear, professional presentation formats.
Internal Project Coordination & Paperwork
- Assist in preparation of internal approvals, file notes, and documentation.
- Support preparation of project budgets, cost sheets, and financial summaries (under supervision).
- Maintain trackers for deliverables, timelines, and milestones.
- Assist in compilation of utilization statements and supporting documentation as required.
General Support
- Assist in scheduling meetings and preparing minutes with action points.
- Support coordination between faculty, consultants, and project teams.
- Undertake any other work assigned by the Project Lead from time to time in connection with CMS activities.
Eligibility & Skills
- Undergraduate degree from a reputed college or university.
- Preference for candidates with 1–2 years of experience in research assistance, documentation, consulting support, or project coordination.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to draft structured reports and prepare professional presentations.
- Hands-on familiarity with AI tools for drafting, research assistance, and productivity enhancement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Duration
