Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Interior Designer & CAD Drafter with experience in both technical drafting and interior design. The role involves working on international hospitality projects, including hotel refurbishment projects in the USA, as well as local commercial office fit-out and residential interior projects.
The position has two key responsibilities: approximately 60% international drafting and submission work and 40% local interior design work. Candidates should be comfortable preparing precise technical drawings as per client-specific standards while also contributing to design concepts, space planning, and 3D presentations.
Key Responsibilities:Track 1: International Drafting & Submissions (60%)
- Prepare and revise 2D drawings, tables, and schedules for international hotel refurbishment projects.
- Interpret client-provided codes, charts, and standards and accurately incorporate them into working drawings.
- Execute drawing redlines, revisions, and updates as per client feedback.
- Ensure drawing accuracy, consistency, and formatting according to client-specific submission standards.
- Prepare BOQs and quantity take-off documents.
- Work under tight international deadlines while maintaining high accuracy.
- Coordinate drawing-related requirements with international clients.
Track 2: Local Interior Design Projects (40%)
- Develop concept designs and space plans for commercial office fit-out and residential interior projects.
- Prepare client-facing presentations, mood boards, and design concepts.
- Create 3D visualisations using SketchUp and/or Lumion.
- Coordinate with site teams, vendors, and other stakeholders during project execution.
- Support design development and ensure alignment with client requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience in Interior Design or Architecture.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience in technical/production drafting and working with client-provided codes, standards, and specifications.
- Ability to execute drawings accurately without making unauthorised design changes.
- A design portfolio demonstrating space planning and concept design experience (not limited to drafting work).
- Strong written English communication skills to coordinate with US-based clients.
- Ability to manage drawing revisions and meet tight deadlines with minimal errors.
