Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Interior Designer role based in Chennai. The Interior Designer will collaborate with clients to understand their lifestyle, requirements, and budget, and translate these into functional design concepts and detailed layouts. Daily responsibilities include space planning, preparing mood boards and material palettes, developing construction drawings and 3D visuals, and coordinating FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) selections. The role involves working closely with architects, vendors, and site teams to ensure design intent is maintained through production, installation, and handover. The Interior Designer will also visit project sites regularly to review progress, address design issues, and support quality, timelines, and cost control.
Qualifications
- Strong interior design and space planning skills, with the ability to create practical, ergonomic layouts.
- Knowledge of architecture fundamentals and experience working with multidisciplinary design or build teams.
- Proficiency in preparing detailed construction drawings and documentation for execution on site.
- Experience in FF&E selection, including furniture, fixtures, finishes, and materials aligned with project concepts and budgets.
- Hands-on experience with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3D visualization tools) and MS Office.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and adhere to timelines and quality standards.
- Strong communication, client interaction, and presentation skills, with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Prior experience in residential interiors or modular solutions in Chennai or similar markets is an advantage.
