Interior Designer – Residential / Commercial

Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Interior Designer to lead residential interior projects from concept to handover. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with strong client management skills and a proven record of delivering high-quality full-home interiors. You will shape the BYTS customer experience, set the standard for design quality, and bridge the gap between client vision and factory production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end residential interior projects, from first client meeting to final handover.
- Understand each client’s lifestyle, preferences, budget, and functional needs, including NRI clients engaged remotely.
- Develop space plans, layouts, mood boards, 3D concepts, and design presentations.
- Create 3D designs and photorealistic renders in Coohom for client presentations and approvals.
- Prepare detailed technical and working drawings, and ensure designs are production-ready for our factory.
- Prepare BoQs, material and hardware specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with the Technical Design team, factory, Site Supervisors, and installation teams to deliver on time.
- Coordinate with clients’ civil, electrical, plumbing, and lighting contractors to ensure interiors integrate correctly on site.
- Maintain design quality while keeping projects within timeline and budget.
- Support sales closures by presenting compelling design solutions and building client trust.
- Mentor and review the work of junior designers and interior architects.
- Stay current with design trends, materials, finishes, and modular hardware.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in residential interior design.
- Delivered 5+ full-home or turnkey residential projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray/Lumion, and MS Office (including PowerPoint).
- Strong knowledge of modular furniture, materials, and hardware, with working knowledge of civil, electrical, lighting, and plumbing interfaces.
- Experience in BoQ preparation, project coordination, and vendor management.
- Fluent in Malayalam and English.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Coohom or other cloud-based 3D design and rendering platforms.
- Strong design aesthetics and space-planning ability.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Leadership and mentoring experience.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Customer-first mindset with a passion for outstanding design experiences.
