Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Interior Design Faculty role based at Artemisia College of Art & Design in Indore. The faculty member will teach undergraduate interior design courses, prepare lesson plans, deliver lectures, and conduct studio sessions that emphasize design concepts, space planning, materials, and detailing. Responsibilities include guiding students through projects, providing constructive critiques, assessing assignments and examinations, and maintaining academic records. The role also involves mentoring students on portfolios, coordinating with other faculty on curriculum development, participating in academic events and exhibitions, and staying current with industry trends and technology in interior design. The faculty member is expected to support institutional initiatives, contribute to continuous program improvement, and foster an inclusive, professional classroom environment.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of interior design principles, space planning, materials, lighting, furnishings, and building codes.
- Proficiency with relevant design and visualization tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite or similar software).
- Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and evaluate students through lectures, studio work, and project-based learning.
- Effective communication, presentation, and classroom management skills, with a collaborative and student-focused approach.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- Relevant professional experience in interior design practice; prior teaching experience in higher education is an advantage.
- Commitment to inclusive education, continuous learning, and staying updated with contemporary design trends and sustainable practices.
- Ability to work on-site in Indore and participate in department meetings, academic events, and institutional activities.
