About the role

JOB DESCRIPTION: The controller will support all company disciplines, requiring experience in corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and development of policies and procedures. The controller will identify accounting and financial issues, suggest timely solutions, and lead implementation of projects.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare financial statements.
  • Manage internal and external reviews.
  • Manage Billing, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
  • Maintain integrity and accuracy of monthly journal entries and general ledger close process.
  • Manage and/or perform balance sheet and cash account reconciliations monthly.
  • Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team.
  • Primary contact with financial auditors & bankers.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all state and local sales and use tax requirements.
  • Create and implement accounting policy documents.
  • Perform continuous assessment of the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Lead, train and develop staff.
  • Participate in other projects as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience with ERP software is required (Infor Syteline experience a plus).
  • 5+ years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong analytical skills; demonstrate a probing mind; think independently.
  • Ability to place a high emphasis on good controls surrounding financial reporting process.
  • Effectively collaborate with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing; crisply communicate goals and objectives; possesses the ability to respond effectively to direct questions.
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Creative: generates new approaches to problems, demonstrates imagination.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree and CPA license preferred.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Financial reporting experience required
