About the role

Intercom Lux is looking for an experienced and physically capable Security Officer to join our team as a Nightclub Security Officer. Candidate must have excellent de-escalation and conflict resolution skills. Ideal candidate should be capable of ensuring the safety and security of patrons, staff, and the venue. This role involves managing entry, controlling crowds, preventing disturbances, and enforcing club policies in accordance with British Columbia's liquor and security laws. Key Responsibilities: Entry Control & ID Verification Check IDs to ensure patrons are 19+ and meet legal age requirements. Deny entry to intoxicated, aggressive, or banned individuals. Monitor guest lists and VIP access when required. Crowd Control & Safety Enforcement Manage occupancy limits to prevent overcrowding (following BC Liquor & Cannabis Regulation Branch guidelines). Identify and de-escalate conflicts before they escalate. Safely escort unruly individuals out of the venue when necessary. Assist in emergency situations (e.g., fire, medical incidents, evacuations). Enforcing Club Rules & Local Laws Ensure compliance with BC liquor laws and club policies. Prevent underage drinking, drug use, and illegal activities. Work closely with law enforcement and emergency services if needed. Patrolling & Incident Response Conduct regular patrols inside and outside the venue. Monitor security cameras if applicable. Write detailed incident reports for management and authorities. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience: Prior experience working in Vancouver Nightlife is an asset. Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods, react quickly, and handle physical altercations if necessary. Conflict Resolution: Strong de-escalation skills to handle difficult situations professionally. Communication Skills: Clear, assertive communication with patrons, staff, and law enforcement. Situational Awareness: Ability to spot and respond to potential threats. Teamwork: Work effectively with fellow security staff and management. Security License: Must have a valid BST.
