About the Role



The Software and Vision Engineer at Motion Ai will design and develop vision applications to support the development of machine vision algorithms and solutions for industrial 2D & 3D machine vision inspection systems. The software will be deployed to a wide range of industries.



Responsibilities



  • Develop vision algorithms with common vision platforms (i.e., Halcon, Zebra, Fanuc iR Vision, OpenCV)
  • Design, build and support software applications (C, C++, C#, .NET, SQL, etc.)
  • Design, build and support software library interfaces to common vision tools
  • Define sensors, lighting and optics for solving machine vision problems
  • Mechanical and Electrical aptitude is a plus and must have potential to be developed by candidate
  • Ability to work on a professional team with a willingness to learn and grow with the company
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned
  • Work as a member of a design team, cooperating with management in an effective manner to perform engineering work of a high quality, with no errors
  • Prepare and submit reports as required to keep management updated on project status
  • Maintain and continually improve technical and professional abilities described above and required to perform assigned tasks
  • Proficiency in Office 365



Qualifications



  • BS/MS degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Experience developing software applications or machine vision systems is a plus



Required Skills



  • Familiarity with developing vision algorithms with common vision platforms (i.e., Halcon, Zebra, Fanuc iR Vision, OpenCV)
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite software
  • Familiarity with machine vision camera software, applications and libraries
  • Knowledge of cameras and sensors used in machine automation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong mechanical and math skills and ability to formulate ideas and create design solutions for internal and external customer needs
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Field experience is a plus
  • Works as a key member of cross functional teams & must display a can-do attitude that sets an example for others
