About PrivaSapien
PrivaSapien is a pioneering privacy deep-tech company building Privacy Enhancing Technology products and services to unlock data without violating people's privacy. Operating under the DPDP Act and RBI IT Framework, PrivaSapien deploys its Consentium suite — Consent Collection Tool and Data Principal Rights Portal — across managed environments at large banking institutions.
Role Overview
The L2 Integration Support Engineer owns the space between PrivaSapien's platform and the bank's applications. You will investigate and resolve API failures, data flow issues, and consent record discrepancies across 5–6 live integration touchpoints, resolving 70% of issues independently and escalating the remainder to L3 with complete, reproducible diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve integration failures — trace API calls end-to-end from the bank's channel through PrivaSapien's integration layer; identify whether the failure is configuration, data format, network, or product-related, and whether it is environment-specific (UAT) or systemic (DC/DR)
- Own UAT defect triage during every bank testing cycle — distinguish genuine product defects from test-data and configuration issues before anything reaches L3 or Engineering
- Diagnose consent record discrepancies between PrivaSapien and bank systems using SQL analysis across both datasets
- Parse and diagnose JSON/XML payloads — identify malformed, missing, or null fields in consent and rights request payloads
- Use log analysis platforms (Kibana / Splunk / ELK) to reconstruct incident timelines by transaction ID, customer ID, or error signature
- Fire independent diagnostic API calls via Postman or equivalent to isolate request-side vs response-side failures
- Write and run basic Python diagnostic scripts for repetitive investigation tasks — bulk record validation, field checks, log parsing
- Assess regulatory implication of integration failures and route to L3/DPDP advisor accordingly
- Escalate to L3 with complete packages: incident timeline, investigation steps, findings, exclusions, and working hypothesis
- Manage bank escalation calls calmly — communicate investigation status, set realistic timelines, never commit beyond authority
- Log root cause for every resolved incident; flag recurring failure patterns to Engineering proactively
- Prepare integration regression test packs ahead of every release window (UAT → DC → DR)
- Drive shift-left engineering — convert recurring L2 ticket patterns into L1-executable runbooks and knowledge-base articles
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications
- Strong REST API debugging — fluent reading of API logs, request/response cycles, status codes, and authentication failures (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys, Basic Auth)
- Hands-on Postman (or equivalent) for independent diagnostic API calls
- Intermediate SQL — multi-table JOINs, data comparison queries for consent record discrepancy investigation
- Fluent JSON and XML payload analysis
- Hands-on log analysis with at least one of Kibana, Splunk, or ELK
- Basic Python or scripting for diagnostic tasks (bulk record validation, log parsing)
- Banking integration familiarity — worked with or alongside a CBS (Finacle, Temenos, BaNCS, or similar)
- Structured escalation and root cause documentation skills
- Engineering graduate — CS, IT, or AI preferred
- 3–5 years of integration, middleware, or API support experience; BFSI exposure strongly preferred
Good to Have
- DPDP Act working knowledge (S.6 consent, S.7 lawful basis, Data Principal rights, response SLAs)
- RBI IT Framework awareness — comfortable with CAB approvals and change windows
- Test automation exposure (Selenium, Playwright, etc.)
- Exposure to cloud platforms and containerised environments
Note: 6 days/week with extended hours and night on-call rotation (1-in-3).
