Role Overview
As a WSO2 Integration Engineer, you will be the bridge between disparate software systems, ensuring seamless data flow and service orchestration. You will design, develop, and manage the full lifecycle of APIs and integration sequences. Your primary goal is to leverage the WSO2 suite to create a high-performance, secure, and scalable middleware layer that supports our evolving digital ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
• API Management: Design, publish, and manage APIs using WSO2 API Manager, ensuring proper versioning, documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI), and lifecycle governance.
• Service Orchestration: Develop complex integration logic, message mediation, and data transformations using WSO2 Micro Integrator or Enterprise Integrator (EI).
• Security Implementation: Configure and enforce security policies, including OAuth2, JWT, SAML, and Basic Auth, to protect sensitive financial and personal data.
• Platform Administration: Assist in the installation, configuration, and tuning of WSO2 clusters in high-availability environments (on-premise or cloud).
• Troubleshooting & Support: Act as the Tier-3 support for integration failures, utilizing WSO2’s observability tools and logs to resolve message-level errors or performance bottlenecks.
• DevOps Integration: Automate the deployment of WSO2 artifacts (Capps) using CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or Bitbucket) and containerize services using Docker and Kubernetes.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
WSO2 Ecosystem
• WSO2 API Manager: Expertise in Gateway, Key Manager, Traffic Manager, and Developer Portal configurations.
• WSO2 Micro Integrator / ESB: Deep knowledge of Synapse configurations, Sequences, Endpoints, Inbound Endpoints, and Connectors.
• Languages: Strong command of Java (specifically for custom mediators) and WSO2 Integration Studio.
• Standards: Mastery of XML, JSON, XPath, XSLT, and DataMapper for complex data mapping.
Backend & Infrastructure
• Protocols: Hands-on experience with REST, SOAP, JMS, MQTT, and ISO 20022.
• Database: Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) for data-level integrations.
• Cloud: Familiarity with deploying WSO2 on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Preferred Experience
• Certification: WSO2 Certified API Manager Developer or Micro Integrator Developer is highly preferred.
• Identity Management: Knowledge of WSO2 Identity Server for complex IAM/CIAM use cases.
• Legacy Integration: Experience modernizing legacy SOAP/WSDL services into modern RESTful APIs.
