IS4S is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the technical development and strategic architectural design of our next-generation cruise missile programs. As the primary technical authority, you will oversee the full lifecycle of complex flight systems from conceptual design and trade studies to flight testing and production.
This role requires a rare blend of deep technical mastery in aerospace design and/or Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems, coupled with the leadership acumen to guide multidisciplinary engineering teams through high-stakes programs.
Responsibilities
- Technical Governance: Exercise ultimate design authority over the lifecycle of cruise missile development, ensuring that conceptual frameworks translate into viable, high-performance flight systems.
- Architectural Synthesis: Oversee the integration of high-fidelity GNC systems with advanced aerospace structures, ensuring optimized performance across subsonic and supersonic flight regimes.
- Strategic Technical Direction: Lead the execution of Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDR), providing the definitive voice on risk mitigation, system trade-offs, and flight safety.
- GNC Advocacy: Direct the development of novel navigation solutions for contested environments, including inertial sensor fusion, terminal seeker integration, and GPS-denied environments.
- Inter-Agency Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for government agencies, Department of War (DoW) customers, and strategic partners.
- Professional Mentorship: Foster a culture of rigorous engineering excellence, providing intellectual leadership and professional development to a multidisciplinary cohort of subject matter experts.
Qualifications
- Extensive Tenure: A minimum of twenty (20) years of progressive experience specifically dedicated to the design and deployment of cruise missile systems or long-range precision-guided munitions.
- Academic Foundation: A B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline from an accredited institution (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
- Aerospace Mastery: Demonstrable expertise in airframe-propulsion integration, structural dynamics, and the application of low-observable technologies.
- GNC Proficiency: Advanced competency in the design and analysis of autonomous flight control laws, 6-DOF simulation, and Kalman filtering within high-dynamic environments.
- Regulatory Command: A comprehensive understanding of MIL-STD requirements, AS9100 standards, and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
