Role Description The Insurance Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad. This role involves guiding patients and their families through health insurance processes, including coverage verification, eligibility checks, and pre-authorization requirements. The Insurance Counselor will coordinate with insurance providers, explain benefits and exclusions in clear terms, and assist with claim submissions and documentation. Daily tasks include responding to patient inquiries, resolving insurance-related issues, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with billing, admissions, and clinical teams to ensure smooth reimbursement workflows. The role requires consistent communication with insurers and internal stakeholders to minimize claim denials, support timely approvals, and provide a positive, informed experience for patients.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong knowledge of Insurance and Health Insurance policies, coverage rules, and claims procedures.
- Candidates should possess experience with Medicare and Employee Benefits, including eligibility, reimbursement, and coordination of benefits.
- Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and empathetically to patients and families.
- Candidates should possess good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative teams.
- Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to manage documentation and data accurately.
- Prior experience in hospital insurance counseling, medical billing, or healthcare administration is beneficial.
- A diploma or degree in commerce, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred.
