Job opening for Insurance & Claims Executive with The Great Eastern Shipping Co. Ltd.
Job Role: Executive – Insurance & Claims
Educational Qualification:
LL.B. and/or a Marine Insurance qualification from a reputed institute such as the National Insurance Academy (NIA).
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in marine insurance, shipping, claims handling, legal services, P&I Clubs, insurance, arbitration, or related fields. Prior exposure to the shipping or maritime industry will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in arranging and maintaining insurance coverage for the Company's fleet and shore-based operations in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Manage marine insurance claims from notification through settlement, ensuring maximum recoveries under applicable policies. Liaise with insurers, brokers, P&I Clubs, surveyors, lawyers, and other stakeholders on claims and insurance-related matters.
- Support the department in handling shipping-related legal matters, including charterparty disputes, contractual claims, arbitration proceedings, and related issues.
- Review insurance-related clauses in contracts, charterparties, and other commercial agreements.
- Assist in monitoring regulatory, sanctions, and compliance developments impacting shipping and insurance operations.
Technical Knowledge
- Sound understanding of Shipping and Maritime operations.
- Knowledge of marine and other insurance products.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
