Role Description The Insurance Advisor role at HDFC ERGO General Insurance is a full-time, on-site position based in Jabalpur. The Insurance Advisor will engage with existing and potential customers to understand their insurance needs, explain product features and benefits, and recommend suitable policies across motor, health, and other general insurance products. Daily responsibilities include conducting customer meetings, providing policy quotations, facilitating proposal and documentation processes, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely issuance and servicing of policies. The role involves handling customer queries, supporting claims-related guidance, and maintaining accurate records of interactions and sales activities. The Insurance Advisor will work towards achieving individual and branch sales targets while upholding compliance, ethical practices, and high standards of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Insurance and Finance to understand products, premiums, risk, and policy features.
- Consulting and Customer Service skills to assess client needs, provide tailored solutions, and build long-term relationships.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening.
- Ability to work with sales targets and basic proficiency in MS Office and digital tools used for policy processing.
- Prior experience in insurance, banking, or financial services is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma; a bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, or related fields is an advantage.
- Strong integrity, attention to detail, and willingness to learn regulatory and product updates.
