Responsibilities
- Ensure reliable, safe and efficient operation of all generating units, auxiliaries, and balance of plant systems.
- Ensures full compliance with Statutory HSS, environmental, cybersecurity and technical requirements from central and state governmental bodies (i.e. CEA, CERC, DSA, SCEI, cybersecurity etc. compliances).
- Responsible for PTW, LOTO, isolations, HIRA, TBT, JSA for assigned areas.
- Operation & Maintenance of OT and IT systems for Plant SCADA and control system.
- High level understanding of SCADA and Control System site acceptance testing and its associated documentation.
- Manage external interfaces to the plant i.e. RCI, EMI, AGC, interface to SLDC / RLDC over PLCC and Forte etc. Co-ordination for implementation of Remote-Control Interface (RCI) at Plant with central team.
- Handle all operational emergencies/trouble shooting pertaining to C&I area, for sustainable production. Monitoring critical parameters and render technical help to resolve the anomalies.
- Active co-ordination with Control Room Operators for smooth functioning of Control room equipment. Analyze the performance and bring operational improvement.
- Manage inventory of instruments, Plant OT, IT system and maintain all licenses.
- Create and implement maintenance procedures for Plant SCADA/control system equipment.
- Guide and train engineers and technicians on maintenance and troubleshooting of plant SCADA/ control system equipment.
- Ensure timely calibration of field instruments installed at Plant.
- Lead equipment failure investigations and analysis for C&I part, establish RCA framework and implement performance monitoring, corrective actions and continuous improvement methodology.
- Preparation of service contract and contract management for C&I maintenance for works outsourced to external service providers.
- Preparation and implementation of C&I maintenance reports and checklists, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and checklists. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, testing results, and plant drawings etc.
- Prepare and manage plant C&I maintenance budget, work to optimize the costs and maximize production.
- Support electrical maintenance section head in plant improvement projects, modernization initiatives, digital transformation, and automation upgrades.
- To devise appropriate PM schedules for all critical equipment as per OEM recommendations/maintenance plan and ensure proper implementation.
- IMS implementation, documentation preparation and updating, pertaining to your area.
- Ensures adherence to Cybersecurity requirements and compliance for Plant process control system. Support IT team in documentation and implementation of ISMS 27001.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Electrical Section Head, from time to time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electrical & electrical/electronic and instrumentation engineering.
- Proven expertise maintenance within hydro power generation sector, with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements pertaining to C&I and Cybersecurity for Hydro/PSP Plants.
- Knowledge of IEC 104, IEC 101, IEC 61850, Modbus, OPC, and similar control system network protocols.
- Experience in IMS implementation for operational Plant. Including ISMS 27001.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for Plant maintenance works.
- Proven experience with C&I system, including specification, design, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Hydro/PSP Plant SCADA and Control system.
- Knowledge of analytics tools for performance optimization and risk assessment.
