Sunrise Glass Industries Pvt. Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of high-quality glass containers, tableware, and architectural glass. We are looking for a motivated Instrument Engineer to join our plant operations team to ensure the smooth functioning of instrumentation and control systems.
Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Instrument Engineer with 1–5 years of experience in a continuous process industry (glass, steel, chemical, or similar). You will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and improvement of field instruments, control panels, and automated systems critical to glass melting and forming processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of instruments like pressure transmitters, temperature sensors (thermocouples, RTDs), flow meters, level switches, control valves, and positioners.
- Diagnose and resolve faults in field instruments and control loops to minimize plant downtime.
2. Calibration & Documentation
- Plan and execute routine calibration of instruments as per ISO/plant standards.
- Maintain accurate records of calibration, maintenance logs, and spare parts inventory.
3. Automation & Control Systems
- Assist in programming and troubleshooting PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar) and HMIs.
- Monitor and optimize PID loops for critical processes like furnace pressure, glass level, and annealing lehr temperature control.
4. Project & Installation Support
- Support new installations, loop checking, and commissioning of instruments.
- Coordinate with vendors for procurement of instrument spares within budget.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all instrumentation work follows plant safety norms, especially in high-temperature and electrical hazard zones.
- Participate in IMS (Integrated Management System) audits and corrective action implementation.
Key Requirements
Education:
- B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, or Applied Electronics.
- Diploma holders with exceptional relevant experience may be considered.
Experience:
- 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing plant (glass, steel, cement, chemical, or pharmaceutical).
- Fresh candidates with strong internship/project experience in instrumentation will be considered for junior roles.
Technical Skills:
- Good knowledge of transmitters, control valves, thermocouples, RTDs, pressure gauges, and SCADA systems.
- Basic understanding of PLC (ladder logic) and HMI operation.
- Familiarity with calibration tools (multimeter, Hart communicator, loop calibrator).
Soft Skills:
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Team collaboration and clear communication.
- Willingness to work in shifts if required.
Preferred (Good to Have)
- Experience in furnace, kiln, or high-temperature process industry.
- Knowledge of DCS or SCADA (Wonderware, Intouch, etc.).
- Basic understanding of VFDs and electrical controls.
