You will serve as the lead architect of our groundbreaking learning ecosystem for your assigned school model, encompassing multiple campuses. What You Will Be Doing
- Designing and iteratively refining an AI-powered learning ecosystem that demonstrably surpasses conventional education, validated by measurable improvements in student performance data
- Interacting directly with students via virtual channels to comprehend their learning journeys, obstacles, and achievements, then applying these insights to drive ongoing refinement of the learning ecosystem
- Analyzing platform data to identify actionable patterns and create high-impact academic strategies using AI/ML, learning science, and evidence-based motivational techniques
- Fostering a culture of courageous experimentation and rigorous, data-informed decision-making to achieve breakthrough improvements in student growth outcomes
- Collaborating with platform engineering, data science, and design teams to convert academic insights and student input into intuitive product improvements
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Wrapping traditional pedagogy in digital packaging. This isn't about moving classroom teaching online – we're redesigning learning from first principles.
- Working with data in a vacuum. Regular interaction with K-12 students is expected, treating their perspectives as vital feedback from our primary customers.
- Waiting for unanimous approval before taking action. You'll advocate for an ambitious vision and mobilize others through demonstrated, data-backed success.
- Relying on established methods. You'll have latitude to test novel approaches to engagement, evaluation, and pedagogy.
- Treating AI as a risk in education. Here, you'll embrace AI as a powerful catalyst for learning transformation, not something to be cautiously managed.
Instructional Designer Key Responsibilities
Lead innovation in AI-enabled, teacher-less education to achieve outstanding student results across multiple campuses. Combine data-driven analysis with consistent student interaction to perpetually refine our learning ecosystem, with success measured through AP exam scores and MAP assessment growth.
Basic Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in Educational Science, Learning Science, Psychology, Psychometrics, Instructional Design, or a related field
- Leadership experience in education or EdTech
- Experience applying AI technologies in an educational or professional context
- Experience designing and implementing AI systems for tasks such as content generation, data analysis, or adaptive learning
- Strong understanding of learning science principles and data-driven educational approaches
- Proven ability to communicate complex educational and technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
