You will function as the lead architect of our groundbreaking learning ecosystem for your assigned school model, covering multiple campuses. What You Will Be Doing
- Designing and iterating an AI-powered learning ecosystem that demonstrably surpasses traditional education, validated by concrete improvements in student performance metrics
- Interacting directly with students via virtual channels to grasp their learning journeys, obstacles, and achievements, applying these discoveries to refine the learning ecosystem continuously
- Analyzing platform learning data to identify actionable patterns and create high-yield academic interventions using AI/ML, learning science, and motivational research
- Fostering a culture of ambitious experimentation and data-informed decision-making, using evidence to generate breakthrough improvements in student growth patterns
- Collaborating with platform engineering, data science, and design teams to convert academic findings and student input into fluid product improvements
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Wrapping traditional education in AI packaging. This isn't about moving classroom teaching to digital screens – we're reimagining learning fundamentally from scratch.
- Working with data in a vacuum. You'll regularly interact with K-12 students, treating their perspectives as critical feedback from our paying customers.
- Waiting for unanimous agreement before innovating. You'll advance a courageous vision and mobilize others through data-backed outcomes.
- Adhering to established practices. You'll have freedom to test novel approaches to motivation, evaluation, and teaching.

Instructional Designer Key Responsibilities
Lead innovation in AI-driven, teacher-less education to achieve outstanding student results across multiple campuses. Integrate data analysis with consistent student interaction to continuously refine our learning ecosystem, tracked through AP exam scores and MAP assessment growth.
Basic Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in Educational Science, Learning Science, Psychology, Psychometrics, Instructional Design, or a related field
- Leadership experience in education or EdTech
- Experience applying AI technologies in an educational or professional context
- Experience designing and implementing AI systems for tasks such as content generation, data analysis, or adaptive learning
- Strong understanding of learning science principles and data-driven educational approaches
- Proven ability to communicate complex educational and technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
