Role : Instock Manager

In this role, you play a significant role in driving effective inventory management, vendor relationships, and operational and supply-chain excellence. The Manager accomplishes this by being a champion of automation, taking data-driven decisions, leading continuous process improvements, and driving system and process automation with key internal teams. You will be a thought leader by influencing others to take action through scalable systems and processes, rather than just addressing issues, and you will own identifying and driving these improvements across the business segment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supply Chain Modeling: Maintain a complete understanding of end-to-end supply chain and complex modeling of workflows for the Category.
- Efficiency and Cost Reduction: Provide specific cost reduction and waste removal opportunities within and across categories and external support teams.
- Strategic Decision Making: Identify and articulate the strategic importance of metrics to manage tradeoffs, improve customer experience, and make decisions with stakeholders.
- Process Automation: Create long-term category solutions that automate or simplify category processes.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Identify opportunities to enhance relationships with key or strategic vendors.
- Operational Negotiations: Participate in the negotiation of operational changes with vendors in partnership with the Vendor Manager to drive supply chain improvements.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with vendor leadership and operations leaders on strategies to reduce cost, lead time, and waste.
- Inventory Availability: Deliver maximum product availability in the category while ensuring healthy inventory levels and optimal supply chain setup.
- System Improvements: Drive system and process improvements by working with technical teams, vendor operations, and inventory management.
- Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial metrics to improve the efficiency of the inventory position.
- Problem Solving: Be solution-oriented and integrate strong data analysis and business rationale into sound decision-making.
- Team Development: Responsible for knowledge management, development of self and others, and recruiting.
Regular Activities
- Operational Support: Support vendors on operational issues, such as appointment and unloading issues, to ensure customer inputs are not impacted.
- Tool Adoption: Ensure complete adoption of tools to meet the right customer input requirements.
- Inventory Reviews: Conduct weekly and monthly reviews of inventory health and identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead Time Optimization: Work with vendors to reduce lead times and increase fill rates on an ongoing basis.
- Buy Evaluation: Critically evaluate all deal and opportunity buys.
Job Specifications
Education
Graduation or MBA (Preferred).
Experience
- Project Management: 5+ years of experience with a proven track record of managing and executing large projects, including data gathering, modeling, and communicating recommendations.
- Domain Expertise: Professional experience in operations, inventory planning, demand forecasting, and/or product life cycles.
- Core Skills: Proven influencing abilities and strong organizational skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and time management.
- Adaptability: Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Autonomy: Ability to work autonomously in a demanding and often ambiguous environment with strong attention to detail.
- Attributes: A self-starter with a high level of flexibility and commitment.
Good to Have
Technical Skills: Experience with improvement techniques such as SAP, etc.
