Job Title: Sales Trader – Institutional Derivatives (DII Focus)

Job Summary
We are looking for a results-driven Mid-Level Sales Trader to join our Institutional Derivatives Desk. This role is dedicated to servicing our Domestic Institutional Investor (DII) book, including Mutual Funds, Insurance companies, and Pension Funds. You will be responsible for providing high-precision execution, delivering real-time market intelligence, and advising clients on hedging and yield-enhancement strategies. The ideal candidate has a strong pulse on the Indian markets and a proven track record of managing high-volume derivatives flow.
Key Responsibilities
- DII Execution & Dealing: Handle high-touch execution for Futures & Options, focusing on liquid and illiquid contracts while minimizing slippage and impact cost.
- Actionable Market Color: Provide intraday updates on Nifty/Bank Nifty flows, Open Interest (OI) buildup, FII/DII positioning, and implied volatility (IV) trends.
- Strategy Implementation: Assist fund managers in executing structured strategies such as Covered Calls, Bull-Call Spreads, and Delta-Neutral positions.
- Rollover Management: Lead the monthly expiry rollover process for DII clients, providing cost-benefit analysis and timing recommendations.
- Block & Bulk Trade Coordination: Manage large-scale block trades in the derivatives segment in coordination with the cash desk and risk teams.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with SEBI mandates, exchange-level position limits, and internal risk management (RMS) protocols.
- Post-Trade Analytics: Deliver comprehensive Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) and trade allocation reports to client back offices.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5–8 years in a Sales Trading or Dealing role at a domestic institutional brokerage.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Indian equity derivatives landscape, including stock-specific F&O, index movements, and dividend arbitrage.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with NEAT/BOLT, and institutional EMS/OMS platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Omnesys, or Fidessa).
- Quantitative Aptitude: Strong understanding of "The Greeks" and how they impact portfolio margins and hedging costs.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of SEBI regulations regarding DII participation in derivatives (e.g., hedging vs. speculation limits).
- Education & Certification:
- Graduate/Post-Graduate in Finance or Economics.
- Mandatory: Valid NISM Series VIII (Equity Derivatives) Certification.
- Additional certifications like NISM Series XV (Research Analyst) or CFA/FRM are highly desirable.
